Mainichi Shimbun Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President and Executive Officer: Ken Matsuki, hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) will participate in the Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council, a general incorporated foundation, as of December 1, 2023. We would like to inform you that Shozo Suetsugu, our executive officer (representative of Tokyo headquarters, in charge of corporate planning, and in charge of digital), has been appointed as a director on the 8th.
The Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council was established as a voluntary organization in January 2022 with the aim of promoting the sports industry and establishing a sports ecosystem in the DX era, and became a general incorporated foundation in July 2023. From the original structure of 3 councilors and 3 directors, on December 8 of the same year, 11 new councilors and 32 directors were added, and the new structure began in earnest.

Our company has sponsored various high school baseball tournaments, intercity baseball tournaments, and national high school rugby football tournaments, and has supported a variety of sports and athletes, with a focus on amateur sports. Through the activities of this council, we aim to build a sports ecosystem in the sports industry and contribute to the revitalization and increase in value of sports.
