Sagamihara native band [Alexandros] will hold the largest outdoor festival to date, “THIS FES ’24 in Sagamihara” for 2 days on October 26th (Sat) & 27th (Sun), 2024.
The live event “THIS SUMMER FESTIVAL”, also known as “This Festival”, which [Alexandros] has been holding since its formation, was originally held mainly in the winter, so it was called “Japan’s slowest summer festival”, which is typical of [Alexandros]. It is the title. This year, the event was held in a tour format for the first time in nine years, and the gorgeous pairing caused a stir all over the country.
In January next year, DisFes will celebrate its 15th anniversary since its debut, and will be holding one of the biggest concerts in its career in Sagamihara, the birthplace of Yohei Kawakami (Vo&Gt) and Maki Shirai (Gt), which is celebrating its 70th anniversary as a city. It has been decided that an outdoor festival will be held in the city for 2 days on October 26th (Sat) & 27th (Sun).
“THIS SUMMER FESTIVAL” will be renamed “THIS FES”, and [Alexandros] will welcome gorgeous artists as guests. Look forward to the announcement.

Since debuting in 2010, we have been performing live throughout Japan and overseas.
I’ve been impressed by the way the atmosphere of customers changes depending on the place they visit, and by the “local love” of the people who live there. It’s especially refreshing when you participate in a festival organized by an artist in your hometown. When we invited many artists to our hometown and watched them liven up our hometown, it awakened something in us that we hadn’t had before.
Now that I think about it, I never really had any “local love” for Sagamihara, where I lived from my childhood until I worked as an office worker. That seems to be the case with Mr. Shirai, who is also from Sagamihara. I think there are surprisingly many people like that. You can quickly go to Tokyo or Yokohama by train, and if you want to relax in a hot spring, you can go to Hakone in less than an hour. Very convenient and close to everything. Sagamihara is such a place. But that’s why I realized that somehow we weren’t paying attention to the most important thing, the land where we live.
I currently live in Tokyo, but my parents’ home is in Sagamihara, so I go back to my hometown two or three times a month.
Every time, I am reminded of the wonderful places in my hometown. And before I knew it, I had developed a love for my hometown.
“Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could bring such artists to Sagamihara?” “If we could create a festival with tens of thousands of people, wouldn’t it become a specialty?”
I started to feel strongly about this.
Therefore, next year in October 2024, we will hold a music festival at Sagamihara Gion Field.
We invite the best artists to come on stage.
I would like you to experience Sagamihara’s atmosphere, specialty products, and above all, the people who live in Sagamihara.
I would like to make it look like a festival created by Alexander. Please come from all over the country and the world. We’ll be expecting you.

We will be holding a live festival in Sagamihara City, the hometown of Yohei Kawakami and myself, Maki Shirai.
In the past, the first drummer Ishikawa, the second drummer Soyasu Shomura, and my previous guitarist were all from Sagamihara. I am a native Sagamihara person who was born and raised in Sagamihara. Sagamihara is not particularly unique, but it is a place where many different cultures intersect, as there is a residential area for a US military base.
I don’t think any of the citizens of Sagamihara ever imagined that the day would come when they would hold a festival in their hometown. The area near the venue, Guion Field, is an area I’ve often visited since I was little. There’s a big park nearby, and there used to be a flower exhibition there.

Please come and visit us, whether you are a Sagamihara citizen or not. We will make it the best festival ever.
