Chubu Centrair International Airport Co., Ltd. (located in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative: Riki Inuzuka), in
collaboration with Sample Kobo Co., Ltd., will install a turntable in the domestic baggage claim area on the 2nd floor of Terminal 1 starting Friday, December 8th. We have a permanent display of food samples with airport-specific designs.
Food samples with designs inspired by Chubu Centrair International Airport, the “gateway to the sky” of the Chubu region, will be sent around a turntable along with customers’ checked baggage.
This exhibition will serve as an opportunity for customers from both inside and outside of Aichi Prefecture to visit Gujo Hachiman, Gifu Prefecture, and to enjoy Nagoya Meshi served at Centrair and other locations, creating memories of their travels. We hope that this will be the case.

Food samples displayed on a turntable
Chubu Centrair International Airport Co., Ltd. is collaborating with “Sample Kobo” (opened in December 2020), which also has a store at the airport, to provide customers in and outside of Aichi Prefecture who use the airport with a store in Gujo Hachiman, Gifu Prefecture. We will promote the famous “food samples” and “Nagoya Meshi” representing the Chubu region.
The food samples on display have designs that can only be seen at Centrair, created by Sample Kobo exclusively for Chubu Centrair International Airport, and are sure to look great in photos. About displaying food samples

“Nagoya Meshi samples are not dishes from famous restaurants, but dishes that are representative of Nagoya and can be eaten at Centrair Chubu Centrair International Airport.Sushi samples are also made by foreigners at Sample Kobo. It is a must-buy item and was selected and produced because of its popularity. However, rather than arranging sushi, we have created an assortment of tuna head, salmon, yellowtail, etc. so that customers can enjoy the state of the fish before it is made into sushi. .”
-About production-
“We used a light urethane resin material because we would not normally make something as huge as a tuna head for food samples.I (President Kaneyama) produced the sample, but there was a lot of work involved in producing the product. A young craftsman from Puru Kobo was in charge of the task, and he was able to gain experience.Also, samples such as tuna heads cannot be made unless you have the real thing, so I asked a sushi restaurant acquaintance of mine to make the sample molds after purchasing the fish. I created it.”
-Points I struggled with-
“Food samples are usually displayed in store window cases or other places where they cannot be touched or move, but this time they are placed on a turntable that moves.For this reason, we created and fixed a pedestal to prevent it from tipping over.However, when making food samples, I’m good at it, but it was my first time creating a foundation, so I had a hard time.”
