The 19th century was a time of rapid change, with social changes brought about by the French Revolution and the rise of Napoleon, the rise of neoclassicism and romanticism, and the development of innovation brought about by the Industrial Revolution. Fashion also changed in a variety of ways with the times, such as neoclassical clothing, military styles, romantic styles, and the emergence of women’s underwear and beautiful dyes as technology developed. This book provides an overview of the major changes and developments in women’s and men’s fashion in the 19th century, as well as valuable collections from Britain’s Victoria and Albert Museum. In addition to the social background that encouraged the formation of fashion, the basic structure such as clothing modeling techniques, tailoring, and textile design, as well as details such as elaborately designed collars, sleeves, pockets, buttons and fasteners, embroidery and ornaments. We will focus on this and explain it with photos, overview diagrams, and detailed explanations.
