A veteran craftsman with over 30 years of experience working at the furniture workshop Wood Sketch (Gifu Prefecture) has developed the “Yurara” chair, which creates the ultimate swaying experience, based on the vision of “enjoying sitting.” .
Our wish is to “bring peace of mind to everyone in today’s busy world.” As of November 2023, it has been significantly updated more than 10 times, making it a masterpiece that customers can enjoy with peace of mind.

The latest Yurara is the 10th generation. After listening to customer feedback and making improvements, we arrived at the current design. Every aspect of the chair has been improved, including a comfortable swing width, a high backrest and armrests that hold your body in place.

Satoshi Hida
A craftsman with a deep knowledge of wood, based on traditional experience in Japanese paper and woodworking.
His unique style is to carefully listen to the customer’s wishes, turn them into sketches, and then create a finished work.
In addition to his masterpiece “Yurara”, he has created countless works based on his keen insight.
Our philosophy is to make furniture according to the user.
1962 Born in Kawabe-cho, Kamo-gun, Gifu Prefecture.
1980 After graduating from Gifu Prefectural Kamo High School, 1986 Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University
1990-1997 Worked directly at a paper store in Hakusan, Tokyo (then Sengoku). Engaged in work such as selling Japanese paper, printing, creating menus, creating catalogs, making special paper lights and folding screens, and designing store interiors.
1996 Participated in Ogura Mokuzai’s “Lumber felling and sawing event” in Aizu-Fukushima
1997 Participated in the “Log School” sponsored by Ogura Mokuzai Kogyo and learned how to view raw logs.
1998 Learned furniture making at Agematsu Technical College
1999 Started a wooden furniture and woodwork workshop
2000 Invented the “Agura Chair” which became the basis of “Yurara” 2005 The studio was named “Furniture Studio Wood Sketch/WOODSKETCH” due to the production style of conceptualizing the work through sketches.
2015 Produced “home bookshelf” and “home storage shelf” furniture that snuggles up to children at Kawabe Town No. 3 Kindergarten
2020 Kani City Childcare Health Plaza Mano and other children’s centers produced “store house” 2023 Developed the 10th generation large type of “Yurara”
