■ “Fighting single mother” Miyo Yoshida regains the world title in her third match after coming to the United States Since December of last year, with the aim of regaining the world championship, the father and son have moved to the United States and set up base overseas to challenge the world. Minoru Yoshida, the 5th and 7th WBO Women’s Super Flyweight World Champion, was looking for an opportunity to do so. In his debut fight in the United States, he won a 2-0 8th round decision in April of this year, and in his second fight, he had the opportunity to challenge for the IBF Intercontinental Bandamweight Championship, but he lost a 0-3 10th round decision and had a tough time. Only one month has passed since his loss in November, and he has decided to take on this match. Initially, it was planned that another player would challenge the world champion, Evannie Bridges, but the challenger withdrew due to injury, and Yoshida was given the right to challenge for the world championship about two weeks ago. A good opportunity has arrived. The main event, Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis, is a big super lightweight match that is attracting worldwide attention, and the challenge took place in front of approximately 20,000 spectators at a sold-out Chase Center venue. On the other hand, Yoshida’s opponent, Evannie Bridges, is also a very popular athlete who has 880,000 followers on Instagram and is also active as a model. Despite having only a short time to prepare, he stepped into the ring to achieve his original goal of winning the title, and with his beloved daughter Mina looking on, he won an overwhelming decision with a score of 3-0, achieving his
long-cherished desire. have become. With this match, Yoshida became the 8th IBF Women’s World Bandamweight Champion, and reached her true potential in her first year in the United States. This is the first time in history that a Japanese female player has regained the world title away from home.

Personal comment
Although the offer was made two weeks ago, the match against the extremely popular fighter Evannie Bridges, who I have been eagerly awaiting for a long time, will take place at the world-famous Chase Center, where 20,000 tickets were sold out and sponsored by Matchroom Boxing. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I made the decision immediately.
Although the preparation period was short, it was the time when I was reflecting on my previous loss and starting new training, so I was able to start preparing for the match right away. To be honest, I was a little nervous, but I felt that if I let this moment slip away, I would be treated as an underdog for the rest of my life, so I was able to believe in myself and work hard with determination. I think it was good.
The main focus of this match was Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis, a match that the world was watching closely. My opponent, Evannie Bridges, was also an active player in many fields, so after the match, everyone around the world told me that I’m also very happy that more people have become fans and sent messages of support.
Additionally, I am proud that a Japanese female athlete was able to achieve this feat by winning a world title in a competition overseas. I will continue to take on challenges as a Japanese person, as a woman, and as a mother, so I ask for your continued support. Minoru Yoshida Profile
