◆A word from the researchers
A year of hardship. I was finally able to give form to this research. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Professor Abe and other teachers for their help, and to my family for their support. I didn’t have any actual charts or anything, so even when I achieved total synthesis, I didn’t really feel that I had achieved it, but as I was putting my paper into shape, I started to feel a sense of accomplishment. It was a long and sometimes difficult period, but I am happy that in the end, with my own guts and tenacity, I was able to achieve total synthesis.
