■If a parent who was abused as a child becomes dependent on you as a child, do you care for them?
Even when it comes to parent and child, their relationships vary. Some of them suffered violence from their parents, some of them continued to be denied their existence by saying, “I wish you didn’t exist,” and some of them were the only ones who weren’t given enough food. While “isolation” from one’s parents does not dissolve the legal parent-child relationship, the “duty of support” stipulated in the Civil Code can be refused. However, “neglect of nursing care,” which is prohibited under the Elderly Abuse Prevention Act, differs depending on the situation. How can you respond if your parents have come to rely on you in this way, especially if they were abused during your childhood? We will collect opinions widely.
