The collaboration with Chiba University of Commerce began in 2021, and this initiative (October-November 2023) will be the third time it has been implemented.
This initiative is based on the prerequisite of a Tokyo distribution center that handles more than 20,000 orders between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with a focus on BtoB mail order. The theme was “What you need to do.” We focused on the fact that it is difficult to attract workers to support work in warehouses, which requires a large number of people, due to a decline in the working population due to a declining birthrate and an aging population, and an industry image known as the “3Ks” (Hard, Dirty, and Dangerous). Then, each group analyzed and analyzed the factors, including comparisons with other companies, considered solutions, and made presentations in each group. As part of this initiative, KOKUYO Supply Logistics Co., Ltd. is leveraging its own knowledge in the logistics industry to help students set and present themes, present the current state of logistics sites including tours of warehouses, and provide commentary on interim and final presentations. The students’ understanding deepened during the approximately two months of work leading up to the final presentation held at Chiba University of Commerce on November 30th, and the content of the presentation provided many insights.
In the future, KOKUYO Supply Logistics Co., Ltd. will continue to work with people from various positions to improve not only our company, but also the logistics industry.

・Since I don’t have many opportunities to make full-fledged
presentations to companies, it was very meaningful to receive opinions from the perspective of people in the field and working adults during both the midterm and final sessions, which I will be able to utilize in the future.
・By actually seeing the logistics field, I learned that mechanization is progressing little by little, and an environment that is easier for women to work in is being created.
