“SmartPOST” is a mailing DX service for local governments from xID Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Hikaru Kusaka, hereinafter referred to as “xID”), a Govtech company that provides “xID”, a digital ID solution specializing in My Number cards. An initiative to digitize resident notifications using “Shonai” has been launched in Shonai Town, Yamagata Prefecture. This initiative is expected to reduce shipping and printing costs and improve convenience for residents.
This initiative was implemented in response to the adoption of the national government’s “Digital Garden City Nation Initiative Grant” (*1), and will become a model case for local governments across the country in the future. This initiative, in which the local government sends individual notifications to the smartphones of residents who have been authenticated with their My Number cards, is a pioneering example within Yamagata Prefecture (*2).

About “xID app”
The “xID app” is a digital ID app that allows you to more easily verify your identity, authenticate your identity, and perform electronic signatures by linking with your My Number Card. When registering for the first time, an ID is generated by reading the signature electronic certificate of the My Number Card using NFC on a smartphone and verifying the identity. From then on, by using the xID app to perform electronic authentication and electronic signatures, you can complete identity verification and administrative procedures online when starting to use financial services.
