GLOBIS Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yoshito Hori) announced on December 13th the 8th round of the accelerator program “G-STARTUP” (https://g-startup.jp/) targeting startup companies. We have started recruiting for the 8th Batch. We will accept entrepreneurs aiming to become a unicorn company with the initial deadline of December 27th and final deadline of January 10th, 2024. In addition to giving priority to deep tech* companies and selecting up to five companies, we are looking for applicants from a variety of startups that solve social issues, and plan to select more than 20 companies in total.
“G-STARTUP” started in April 2019 with the aim of building a platform that will produce 100 unicorn companies. We select startup
entrepreneurs who are expected to grow into Japan’s leading venture companies in the future, and provide them with the business
development and financing necessary to grow their products, business models, and teams, and create unicorn companies. We support. Through the past seven batches, we have selected 198 companies in total, 78 companies as MainTrack and 120 companies as IncubateTrack, and the G-STARTUP Fund has invested in over 50 companies. Additionally, Globis Capital Partners (GCP) has made four investments and KIBOW Social Investment Fund has made two investments.
Continuing from the previous term, G-STARTUP 8th Batch will give priority to deep tech companies that utilize advanced technology created by companies, universities, research institutes, etc., and up to 5 slots will be selected. We support R&D-oriented startups, which often take a long path to profitability, to quickly expand their business by utilizing VC funding. We are also looking for innovative startups that solve social issues through business and generate economic returns as well as a positive impact on society and the global environment.
The 8th Batch plans to select more than 20 companies for MainTrack and IncubateTrack, and welcomes the challenges of entrepreneurs. In addition, we will commit a principle investment of 5 million yen to all MainTrack selected companies and IncubateTrack companies that receive “special pitch rights” at Demo Day, and will continue to support the Globis Group even after the program is implemented. . The program is scheduled to start in February 2024, and a Demo Day (results presentation) will be held at the end of April to announce the results of the program. At Demo Day, we will invite investors such as GCP, Japan’s leading venture capital firms, and angel investors to provide an opportunity to raise funds.

This is an accelerator program that supports startup entrepreneurs who are expected to grow into Japan’s leading venture companies in the future, with the aim of building a platform that will produce 100 unicorn companies.
