We will be holding an online briefing session regarding the recruitment of additional corporate companies and organizations that can cooperate with the research of the industry-academia collaboration project “M-ORION Project”. This project takes advantage of the opportunity for stress checks conducted by participating companies to implement cutting-edge programs free of charge, so businesses and employees can participate with little burden. The research design is easy to understand. What is the M-ORION project?
The project, which was adopted by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) as part of the “Public-Private Innovation Demonstration Infrastructure Development Project for Dementia Countermeasures,” aims to “verify the effectiveness of multifaceted workplace mental health countermeasures through organizational intervention.” This is an industry-academia
collaboration project by the Cluster Randomized Control Trial research group (representative: Akijun Tsutsumi, Professor, Kitasato University School of Medicine). In this survey, we will use the opportunity of a stress check to complete a questionnaire (paper/web) that includes additional questions in addition to the legally mandated stress check, and then implement a “workplace improvement program” to improve mental health in the workplace. We will regularly measure the effectiveness of the intervention.
》Providing a “workplace improvement program” to improve mental health in the workplace
It is known that work stress has a major impact on the health of workers and the management of workplaces. Stress checks can not only predict workers’ intentions to quit their jobs and risks of taking time off, but there have also been a number of recent studies that suggest the effectiveness of stress countermeasures using stress checks, as well as examples of their use in combination with initiatives that are useful for mental health. It is expected that this will be effective in improving the workplace environment. On the other hand, it is difficult for each person to actually adopt it in the workplace, and the reality is that it is not being used as much as expected. The “workplace improvement program” provided in this research utilizes five tools that lead to improved mental health in the workplace, developed using IT by a team that has been researching stress countermeasures in the Japanese workplace for many years.
