The author describes the delicious dishes that took time and effort, the growth of children, the animals that are essential to life in the mountains, the inside of the house he built himself, and other things that are simple yet rich, free and carefree. The sight of a family living each moment in a calm, intense and modest way reminds us of the important things we have forgotten.
*This book is a re-edited version of “Ayumin and Sue” (Shufu to Seikatsusha) written by Ayumi Hirokawa and Susumu Hirokawa, with new interviews added.
