We believe that it would be a waste to just store masterpieces used by orchestras, so since opening them to the local community in the spring of 2021, we have been attracting a lot of attention mainly on social media, and last year, the third time the event was held, we held performances every day. There was a long line of people waiting for the performance, and a total of 596 performances were performed over 6 days.
We even have guests who come from far away and famous pianists perform here. The music played in the atrium, which is more than 16 meters high, echoes throughout the store and enhances the mood.
Utilizing the highest class grand piano that was dormant at Matsuzakaya Matsukado Piano is a grand piano that was stored at Matsuzakaya and made available to customers as a street corner piano, and began operation in April 2021. Since then, he has appeared at events irregularly. In recent years, it has become an annual event during the Christmas season by adding holiday decorations in December.
Because you can freely play the highest class of grand pianos used by orchestras – Steinway & Sons – it is so popular that street piano players come not only from Nagoya but also from all over the country, and the performances are mainly posted on SNS. is attracting attention.

The installation location is an atrium space with a height of over 16 meters, and is located in the organ plaza on the first floor of the south building where the pipe organ is installed.
The sounds of the piano echo throughout the store on the 1st to 3rd floors, evoking the Christmas mood.
