Vocalist Yusuke Chiba passed away on November 26, 2023 at the age of 55. His unique sound, emotionally moving poetry, and ephemeral way of life that he left behind during his lifetime influenced many musicians.
In this broadcast, “Love connects! Titled “Satoshi Ishido’s Dear Yusuke Chiba”, the program will air songs such as “THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT”, “ROSSO”, and “The Birthday” from the bands that Yusuke Chiba was a member of, as well as highlight his deep footprint in the Japanese music scene. Fiction writer Satoshi Ishido will trace and mourn with his eardrums, heart, and soul.
Satoshi Ishido made the following comment regarding the broadcast of this program.
“I loved Yusuke Chiba’s music and appearance.
I have listened to his solo projects many times and attended their live performances. However, like many fans, I did not know Yusuke Chiba during his lifetime. I’m just a fan. At a turning point in my life, I had a mod suit made by a tailor that Chiba had ordered, drank Heineken and Budweiser, which were his favorite drinks, and indulged in reading poetry collections. If someone told me that there is probably someone with a more suitable personality, I would not be able to argue. However, I decided to accept the offer.
I think it would be foolish to stick to the worldview he had envisioned, and it was an attitude that affirmed the ability of humans to live even in a hopeless world. Although I live in the world of news, I realized that my work and works were deeply influenced by him. “We must always understand the past.
We have to live in the present and we have to look to the future.” In the afterword to the poetry collection “More Beat”, Chiba writes this. We place the news of Yusuke Chiba’s death in reality and understand his footsteps as part of the past. I would like to create time for many listeners to survive the present and look to the future. ”
