Author profile
Ai Nakamura Born in 1980 in Saitama Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Department of Japanese Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Graduate School of Japanese Painting, Master’s degree. Leads the painting class “Atelier AI”. He is a lecturer at NHK Culture, Asahi Culture, Seven Academy (Sekai Bunkasha), etc., and also holds one-day courses in various places such as Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, Takamatsu, and Hiroshima. He is also famous for his love of polar bears and pandas, and has been painting polar bears and pandas in watercolor for about three years now, producing over 200 works.
All of his books, including “Watercolor Textbook for Painting Flowers and Plants” and “One Flower a Day with Watercolor: Works, Sketches, and How to Paint,” are all published by Graphic-sha. Translations such as English, French, Russian, and Chinese versions have also been published. His watercolor works, which are based on Japanese paintings and have beautiful, gentle colors, have attracted attention from around the world as a uniquely Japanese artist.
