Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1968. Completed graduate school at Kyoto University in 1992, received Doctor of Agriculture (Nagoya University) in 2001. Engaged in research on production technology for horticultural crops at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ Agricultural and Environmental Technology Research Institute, Vegetable Tea Industry Experiment Station, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, etc. During that time, he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Council Secretariat. After working at Chiba University Academic Research and Innovation Promotion Organization in 2020, he became a professor at Chiba University Graduate School in 2023. Yasuhiro Hirano
Born in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture in 1970, completed the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, Nagoya University in 1998, and holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture. After working at the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute and the Swiss Federal Forest Research Institute, he has been an associate professor at the Nagoya University Graduate School of Environmental Studies since 2010. Former president of the Root Research Society (2020-2021). Specializes in forest root ecology and clinical environmental studies. Research to clarify the response of tree roots to environmental changes such as global warming and acid rain from the perspective of the carbon cycle, and research to evaluate tree roots using ground penetrating radar without digging into the soil in order to reduce forest disasters. .
