Rakuten GORA, one of the largest golf course reservation sites in Japan, operated by Rakuten Group, Inc., has started inventory collaboration with Kakao Golf Reservation, a golf course reservation platform operated by South Korea’s Kakao VX Corp.

“Kakao Golf Reservation” is Korea’s largest golf course reservation platform. Since its launch in 2019, the number of users has rapidly increased and it has gained support from a wide range of golfers in South Korea. Through this collaboration, Korean golfers using Kakao Golf Reservations can now make real-time reservations at 150 of the Japanese golf courses (Note 1) listed on Rakuten GORA. . In addition, information on Japanese golf courses is automatically translated into Korean on the system and posted on “Kakao Golf Reservation”, reducing the burden on both users and golf courses.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan from South Korea (estimated) from January to October 2023 is on an upward trend, increasing by 7.7% from the same period in 2019 to approximately 5.52 million. 2).
Additionally, according to the “JNTO Japan Travel Attraction Handbook 2022,” there is a tendency for Korean golfers to have a high demand for playing overseas due to the high domestic playing fees and low winter temperatures (Note 3) ). Rakuten GORA leverages its strength in listing a wide variety of golf courses from all over Japan to provide a wide range of options for Korean golfers who are highly interested in playing golf in Japan.
“Rakuten GORA” has been collaborating with overseas golf course reservation sites in order to send golfers from overseas to golf courses in Japan. Through this collaboration with Kakao Golf Reservation, we will also work to support golf courses aiming to attract more inbound tourists.
“Rakuten GORA” will continue to contribute to the development of the golf market while responding to the wide-ranging demands of golfers both domestically and internationally.
