Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (President: Tsuyoshi Hashimoto, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as “MOL”) announced on December 19th that it has acquired GAIL (India) Limited, the largest gas supply company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in India. The naming ceremony for the second newly built LNG carrier (hereinafter referred to as the “Ship”) for New Delhi, hereinafter referred to as “GAIL”, was held at the Geoje Shipyard of Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. The ceremony was attended by a large number of related parties, and GAIL Chairman & Managing Director Sandeep Kumar Gupta named it “GAIL URJA.” After the ship was completed on December 20th, it began sailing towards its first loading port, the United States, under a time charter contract with GAIL. In the future, we plan to primarily engage in LNG transportation from North America to India.
