The exhibition “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition” introducing the behind-the-scenes of the birth of Ghibli Park will open on December 23rd (Saturday) at the Kochi Prefectural Museum of Art. This is the first time this event has been held in Shikoku. There will be an exhibit related to Ghibli Park’s “Mononoke no Sato” that will be appearing for the first time from the Kochi venue. The event will run until Sunday, March 31, 2024.
Ghibli Park is a park facility that expresses the world of Studio Ghibli’s works, and is located within Expo Aichi Memorial Park in Aichi Prefecture. In this exhibition, we will look back at the work and works of director Goro Miyazaki, who is in charge of the production of Ghibli Park, and will also present valuable production materials and prototypes that will show how Ghibli Park is created with the director at the center. I will introduce it here.
Prior to the opening, an opening ceremony was held today, December 22nd (Friday) at the Kochi Prefectural Museum of Art. Vice President Nakajima
Although the venue is smaller than before, the number of exhibits has not been reduced in any way, making it an intense exhibition that allows you to see the exhibits right in front of your eyes.
Additionally, new exhibits related to Mononoke no Sato, which opened in November of this year, have been added, and I think the exhibit is full of things to see. Please take a look at how director Goro Miyazaki, who has worked on movies, the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, and Ghibli Park, has worked as a “creator” and how far he has continued to work until he is satisfied with his work. . There will also be a cat bus waiting, so we hope that many people from Kochi and Shikoku will come to “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition”.

These partial models are the actual size used during the production stage, allowing you to see up close the fur and ridges expressed with tiles. In addition, 1/20 scale models and production materials will also be on display.
