There are plenty of special events perfect for the beginning of 2024! Concerts where you can enjoy the finest music unique to Kurume City and the “New Year’s Camellia Exhibition” will be held sequentially from January 8th (Monday, holiday).

Schubert’s “Trout” by NHK Symphony Orchestra members *
Kurume City Plaza Piano Series 1st “Jazz Pianist Naoko Tanaka × Schubert’s “Masu” performed by NHK Symphony Orchestra members will welcome Kurume Hometown Ambassador jazz pianist Naoko Tanaka and chamber music members from Japan’s leading orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, to deliver a “fusion of classical and jazz”. It’s a concert. This performance was born out of the desire for people to enjoy the beautiful and emotional sound of the piano at The Grand Hall in Kurume City Plaza, which has excellent acoustics.
It has been decided that it will be held on January 8, 2024 (Monday, holiday) as the first part of the Piano Series.

* “New Year Camellia Exhibition” exhibits about 60 camellias from around the world that bloom in the new year *
“New Year’s Camellia Exhibition” is an event held at the Kurume City World Camellia Museum to display camellias from all over the world that bloom in the new spring. During the event, approximately 60 cut and potted camellia flowers that bloom in the new spring will be on display at the venue, including Vietnam’s New Year’s flower
“Haidung” and the yellow camellia “Kinkacha”.
Additionally, commemorative gifts will be presented to visitors during the event. (It will end as soon as it runs out.)

Museum Valentine is an event held at the Ishibashi Cultural Center to coincide with Valentine’s Day. During the event, you can enjoy a “Valentine Concert” where songs related to Valentine’s Day are played live, a workshop where you can learn flower arrangements perfect for Valentine’s Day, and more. We are also planning a “Flower Valentine” event, where we will give away cut roses, and a display of flowers inspired by Valentine’s Day.
