“Legal Learning” is an online legal learning support service released on October 2, 2023 with the aim of supporting the development of legal personnel. We provide and distribute video content ranging from basic knowledge of corporate legal affairs to the latest information on legal revisions, all of which are explained and supervised by lawyers. After taking the video content, you can take a test to check your understanding, and it also has a study reminder function, so legal professionals can study systematically while checking their level of knowledge acquisition. By utilizing these contents and functions, you can not only establish and standardize legal knowledge, but also promote the establishment of an educational system in the legal department.
Issues in legal studies to date and concerns faced by legal professionals Up until now, the following four types of learning in corporate law have been the mainstream. However, each method had its disadvantages, making it difficult to establish a systematic education system for the legal department.
1. Provide education through OJT
It takes a lot of preparation on the part of the educator, leading to variations in the content and quality of teaching.
2. Read books
Difficult, difficult to understand, and takes time to learn
3. Search and learn online
There are concerns about the reliability of information.
4. Attend a seminar
It is difficult to systematically learn about legal matters because it is conducted one-off.
Voices from companies that use it
Kyodo Printing Co., Ltd. Legal Department Legal Division Manager Atsushi Sakuragawa
Our legal education is primarily OJT, and senior employees have to take time out of their daily work to teach.
New employees need systematic legal knowledge, and there is a lot of content to be conveyed, which places a heavy burden on the instructor. However, with Legal Learning, you can cover a wide range of knowledge necessary for corporate law, and it is efficient because new employees can study at their own convenience.
Kyodo Printing Co., Ltd. Legal Department Legal Division Leader Maki Fuwa I think it can also be used by employees who have transferred to the legal department or who have just returned to work to recall their memories. As someone who has returned to work, I feel that videos help me remember things more quickly and stick to them more quickly than text-only content. It was also convenient that the videos were divided into short sections by topic, so I could choose only the parts I remembered or wasn’t confident about and use my free time to study. We will continue to support the establishment of legal education systems and the establishment and standardization of knowledge among legal personnel by enhancing the content on our online video learning support service “Legal Learning.”
