Opening from February 10th ★ “Kirameki Sculpture Festival / Kirameki Art Festival” works by a total of 27 diverse artists will gather at 11 venues in Taito and Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo! Advantageous advance tickets are now on sale.
*In addition to exhibitions, there are many events such as events by artists and workshops for parents and children to enjoy. *
* “Glitter Sculpture Festival” *
is an art festival where you can enjoy an exhibition of a variety of contemporary sculptures by the most exciting artists, set in the Yanesen area, which still has a downtown atmosphere in Tokyo. In addition to exhibiting works, there will also be exhibits in the Yanesen + Ueno Sakuragi area.
A riddle-solving walk rally where you can enjoy strolling through the shopping streets and alleys, a flea market organized by artists, and fun for parents and children to enjoy together.
We also offer a number of events, such as workshops where you can learn art, that will allow you to become more familiar with
“sculpture.”
The theme of this art festival is “What is sculpture?” Speaking of sculptures, we think of Buddhist statues, bronze statues in parks, and statues in front of stations.
Do you imagine monuments? The word “sculpture” was first created in the Meiji period when “sculpture” was translated, and at that time, “sculpture” mainly referred to wood carving or modeling (clay). On the other hand, in modern times, the materials, techniques, and ideas for “sculpture” are wide-ranging, including the use of sound, light, and 3D printing. We will consider the existence of these diversifying concepts of sculpture through the curation and works of various exhibitions at all 11 venues. The Kirameki Sculpture Festival is a “sculpture” that each person has in mind.
This is an art festival where you can see the relationship between the two and feel all kinds of emotions all at once.
