AGRIST Co., Ltd.
Selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ “Small and Medium Enterprise Innovation Creation Promotion Project” to develop and demonstrate innovative smart agricultural technologies and services to automate and improve efficiency of agricultural work. In preparation for a large-scale demonstration of maximizing agricultural income and expenditure based on data acquired by automatic harvesters, data collected from harvesting robots will be analyzed using AI, with the aim of optimizing shipping forecasts, demand forecasts, and farm management.

AGRIST Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shintomi-cho, Miyazaki Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as AGRIST), which promotes data agriculture using AI, is a company that promotes automation of agricultural work in the agricultural field in the “Small and Medium Enterprise Innovation Creation Promotion Project” implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. We are pleased to inform you that the theme of “Development and demonstration of innovative smart agricultural technologies and services to improve efficiency” has been adopted on December 28th (Thursday).

We will then use AI to analyze the data collected by the harvesting robots and aim to optimize the entire supply chain, including shipping forecasts, demand forecasts, and farm management, by developing an AI platform. background
Since our company was founded in 2019, we have been working on developing automatic harvesting robots for green peppers and cucumbers.
A farm in the Kanto region that introduced a cucumber harvesting robot in September 2023 achieved an average harvest rate of over 40% in one month. In terms of hourly wage, it has the harvesting capacity of one person per month.
In addition, at our company’s farm in Shintomi-cho, Miyazaki Prefecture, we managed cultivation while analyzing the collected data, and by growing from August 2022 to June of the following year, we achieved a yield of 17.4 tons, which is approximately 1.4 times the average yield of green peppers. Achieved.
During this development process, we experienced situations in which even if we were able to improve the efficiency of harvesting, the yield could easily fluctuate by 20% to 30% due to weather and other factors, and the market price could halve or double.
For this reason, we have been equipping harvesting robots with sensors and cameras to collect various data with the aim of developing an algorithm to adjust harvest timing based on market price predictions. Optimize the entire supply chain with an AI agriculture platform By equipping harvesting robots with cameras and sensors, it is possible to obtain precise environmental and growth data from the entire farm. By analyzing this data using AI, we can accurately understand the growth status of crops and achieve highly accurate yield predictions. We also aim to maximize profits by predicting supply and demand by linking with external data such as weather and market data, and controlling the cultivation environment accordingly. Furthermore, by linking data with logistics and sales, we will build an AI agricultural platform that not only optimizes cultivation management but also the entire supply chain.
