French system integrator Madeo Consultant adopts IP Infusion’s OcNOS(R) and open networking

IP Infusion (Headquarters: California, USA; CEO: Jun Ogata) today announced that Madeo Consultant, a cloud provider and systems integrator (SIer) headquartered in France, is integrating open networking into its data service center environment. We are pleased to announce that we have adopted IP Infusion’s network operating system (OS) “OcNOS(R)” as a solution to replace the Cisco switches that were installed. OcNOS acts as a core network switch and public BGP router with transit partners in data center interconnect use cases. Madeo Consultant is a software provider and system integrator for data centers, providing cloud network SaaS (Software as a Service) to its client base. This required EVPN-VXLAN and BGP functionality within the OcNOS software package for data centers and service providers. To meet growing demand and offer new services, Madeo Consultant was evaluating several network disaggregation strategies, including Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) and open networking hardware. Of these, OcNOS, backed by IP Infusion’s extensive market experience, was rated as a much more mature network solution. In addition, SONiC did not have the BGP functionality that comes standard with OcNOS packages for data centers and service providers.
Madeo Consultant replaced existing switches Cisco Nexus 3048 and Cisco Catalyst 3750 with OcNOS and enabled EVPN-VXLAN and optics to improve performance. The migration was also facilitated using the
industry-famous command line interface of OcNOS, which is installed on Edgecore Networks and UfiSpace hardware.
