◆Aimed worldview:
Through the efforts of both parties, we aim to contribute to the realization of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ Green Food System Strategy, which contributes to reducing
environmental impact, and to build a sustainable pig farming model. Source: Created by processing Green Food System Strategy (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries)
https://www.maff.go.jp/j/kanbo/kankyo/seisaku/midori/attach/meadri_guruguru_960px.jpg The pig farming industry faces challenges such as rising utility costs such as feed, electricity and gas, a labor shortage due to a lack of successors, and a high environmental impact. GHG emissions (CO2 equivalent) derived from domestic pigs are estimated to be
approximately 1.74 million tons/year*, so reducing the environmental impact is of great significance. Additionally, in order to ensure a stable food supply into the future, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has formulated the Green Food System Strategy, which aims to achieve both improved productivity and sustainability in the food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries through innovation. Recommended.
Based on this background, by bringing together Eco-Pork’s pig farming DX utilizing ICT, IoT, and AI and ENEOS’s accumulated energy supply know-how and environmental value management knowledge, we will contribute to the pig farming industry. We have begun this joint study with the belief that we can contribute to resolving issues and realizing the Green Food System Strategy.
In order to further solidify this joint study, ENEOS Innovation Partners LLC (President: Toru Naganuma), a wholly-owned company of ENEOS, will invest in Eco-Pork, and ENEOS and Eco-Pork will work together to develop strategies. We have concluded a partnership agreement.
By combining the strengths of both companies, ENEOS and Eco-Pork will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society starting with the pig farming industry, with the aim of achieving a carbon-neutral and decarbonized society by 2050.
