* ■What is “drug-resistant bacteria”, a global medical issue* When we get a bacterial infection such as pneumonia, we treat it with drugs called antibiotics.
However, if antibiotics are overused, they may become ineffective, and these bacteria are called “drug-resistant bacteria.”
Currently, drug-resistant bacteria are increasing around the world, and it is reported that by 2050, 10 million people, or more people than cancer, will die from this infectious disease.
This has become a global medical issue that must be addressed.
