Sublogg (https://sublogg.com/), an information media useful for daily life operated by Review Co., Ltd. (https://jafmate.co.jp/), is aimed at people in their 20s and above across Japan. We conducted a questionnaire survey asking, “What kind of reviews about milky lotion do you refer to?”

When we conducted a survey to find out what kind of reviews about emulsions people would consider, the number one answer was
“moisturizing power.”
We will also introduce other items in ranking format.

“Feeling of use” and “effect/efficacy” came in second place, followed by “price” and “fragrance,” which came in 5th place. 1st place: Moisturizing power
・I believe that no matter which emulsion you use, you won’t know if it suits your skin until you try it, so I think reviews on its
moisturizing power will be helpful. (Male in his 20s)
・It dries quickly everywhere in winter. So I’m very interested in how well it moisturizes. Check the moisturizing properties based on the reviews. (Female in her 50s and up)
・Since I use emulsion with an emphasis on moisturizing, I want to know how well it moisturizes and how long it lasts, so I refer to reviews about moisturizing. (Female in her 20s)

Many people refer to reviews regarding how long it lasts and how well it moisturizes during dry periods.
2nd place: Usability
・I am concerned about whether it will be sticky when used or whether it can be used immediately after washing. It’s good to have something that can be used even when it’s torn (male in his 30s)
・I don’t like it to be sticky, and I often get bumps from emulsion because it’s sticky, so it’s best to use something that’s not too thick. (Female in her 40s)
– Emulsions are often used for moisturizing purposes, so they are moist, but I’m also concerned about them being sticky, so I want to focus on the feeling of being able to use them without getting sticky. (Female in her 30s)
The second place is “usability”.
It turns out that many people don’t like products that are sticky, even if they have moisturizing properties.
2nd place: Effect/Efficacy
・I don’t usually use emulsions, so if I do use one, it’s best to use something that is effective. I think it would be helpful to have reviews. (Female in her 40s)
・Since I have oily skin, I would like something that is medicated and doesn’t cause acne easily. I thought it would be better if it was more refreshing than moisturizing. (Female in her 30s)
・When it comes to emulsion, I think that the most important point is its effectiveness. (Male in his 40s)
“Efficacy/Efficacy” also came in second place.
Some people were also concerned about the effects and efficacy of applying emulsion and whether it would prevent acne.
4th place: Ingredients
・I carefully check the ingredients to see if they are additive-free and do not contain harmful substances such as ethanol or parabens. (Female in her 40s)
・No matter how effective it is, it is difficult to use it if it doesn’t suit your skin, so you want to use products that use good ingredients that are gentle on your skin. (Female in her 30s) ・Since emulsion is a part of skin care, consider whether it will interfere with other skin care product ingredients before purchasing. (Female in her 20s)
5th place: Price
・I want to know how effective it is for the price. I would like to consider replacing it if it has the same effect as the emulsion I am currently using and is cheaper. (Female in her 40s)
5th place: Fragrance
・I don’t like the smell of synthetic fragrances, so I would like to use fragrance-free products if possible. Also, I don’t really use it as a reference because the effects and usability vary from person to person, and I don’t pay much attention to reviews because I can tell by looking at the price. (Male in his 40s)
“Price” and “Fragrance” are ranked 5th.
There were also opinions that it should not be too expensive and that it should be unscented.
summary
When we surveyed 100 people, 38.0% of them answered “moisturizing power”. There were also many reasons why they answered, such as wanting to be well moisturized during dry periods and wanting to know how long it lasts.
It turns out that while some people don’t apply emulsion, many people who do apply expect it to have moisturizing properties.
Why not use this as a reference when choosing an emulsion?
