This contest was started in 2010, when the idea of an unconnected society became a hot topic, and we wanted to convey to as many people the warm connections between people as possible in these times, and we receive many letters each time. .
In this contest, you will be asked to write a letter about the feelings of gratitude you would like to convey to “that person,” the scenes of memories you have spent together, the words you have left behind, and things you have wanted to say recently.
* Background of jury selection (from the secretariat) *
We hope that this contest will be an opportunity for people to feel connected. To that end, I believe it is our mission to empathize with the sadness and sense of loss of losing a loved one, gather as many “feelings” as possible, and deliver those “feelings.” In order to fulfill this mission, we have two people: Mika Horii, a freelance announcer who brings excitement to many people through narration and reading, and Ms. Bell, a literary YouTuber who connects the thoughts of authors to readers through reading and book reviews. We have asked you to be a judge.
The two of you will participate in the judging of the contest and read the letters from everyone. We have also received messages from both of you regarding this contest. Please take a look.

I wanted to say thank you more. I wanted to apologize properly. By remembering the words that remain in your heart, you may be able to take a step forward and value yourself even more. I think each of us has had various events and life experiences. I want to be part of that irreplaceable time. * [Message from Bell] *
* As the number of literary works on the theme of “end of life” increases, I myself have reached the age where I am seriously thinking about my parents’ health issues. *
* I am very honored to have been selected as a judge at a time when interest in this “view of life and death” is increasing. *
*
I have reviewed many books and enjoyed them as a reader, but this is my first challenge as a judge. I will take advantage of my past experience and approach the project with sincerity. The only concern I have is that I’m not good with the letter format, so I’m afraid I’ll burst into tears… (lol)*
* In any case, we are looking forward to receiving your soulful works! Thank you very much. *
