Fuji Rock is Japan’s leading music festival, which will be held for the 25th time in 2024 since it was first held in Naeba, Yuzawa Town. In 2011, the Fuji Rock Forest Project was launched by Niigata Prefecture, Yuzawa Town, and Smash to promote the cyclical use of forest resources. The event has grown together with the host cities of Niigata Prefecture, Yuzawa Town, and Naeba, with a portion of the sales going back to the cost of transporting thinned wood. Fuji Rock tickets and related items will be provided as thank you gifts, and the donations made to Yuzawa Town will be used to support the town’s tourism, forest environment maintenance, and disaster relief efforts, including Fuji Rock and the Fuji Rock Forest Project. We will use this information to create a town that is strong against the elements, and will lead to the development of the town.
Going forward, Yuzawa Town, Smash, and Trust Bank will continue to communicate the charm of Yuzawa Town to as many people as possible through Fuji Rock thank-you gifts, increasing the number of fans of the town, and increasing the number of people who have relationships and exchanges with the local community. We aim to increase it. □■ Overview of thank you items ■□

Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture (https://www.town.yuzawa.lg.jp/index.html) The winter resort town of Yuzawa is located at the southern tip of Niigata Prefecture, and is a mountain town rich in nature, surrounded by Mt. Tanigawa and Mt. Naeba, both of which are listed as Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains. It is a heavy snowfall area that is covered with nearly 3 meters of snow in winter, and was the setting for Yasunari Kawabata’s novel “Snow Country.” The snow scene depicted at the beginning of “Snow Country” overlaps with the original landscape of Yuzawa Town. Yuzawa Town, which has long been a post town on the old Mikuni Kaido, flourished as a ski and hot spring town in modern times, and has achieved significant development especially since the opening of the Joetsu Shinkansen and the Kanetsu Expressway. There are 10 ski resorts in the town, hot springs in various locations, and 5 public baths. Yuzawa Town has a strong image of winter, but in spring the mountains are colored with Benizan cherry blossoms and fresh greenery, in summer Fuji Rock (Naeba Ski Resort), famous for the world’s cleanest rock festival, is in full swing, and in autumn it is visually vibrant. It is a town filled with various charms in each season, surrounded by beautiful autumn leaves.
