The “100 Years Later Art Festival – Uchiboso Art Festival”, which is being held in the five Uchiboso cities of Ichihara City, Kisarazu City, Kimitsu City, Sodegaura City, and Futtsu City, is centered around “LIFE ART” and “LIVE ART.” Expand. LIFE ART, which focuses on art, will announce additional artists such as Yasuaki Igarashi and exhibition areas. In addition, “LIVE ART”, which focuses on music, will feature a special live performance titled “Tosoko Engeki/Tosoko Ongeki” produced by Takeshi Kobayashi with Kazutoshi Sakurai, Shikao Suga, Koji Miyamoto, Aina The End, and others. Decided.
The words “LIFE ART” and “LIVE ART” refer to Takeshi Kobayashi, the general producer of the “Hundred Year Art Festival – Uchiboso Art Festival”, and Fram Kitagawa, the art director, who have been involved in their respective fields. It is something that is expressed through experience and thoughts.
“LIFE ART” is created by Fram Kitagawa, who has directed art festivals across Japan and served as general director of “Ichihara Art x Mix” in Ichihara City, who finds beauty in local activities rooted in people’s lives. It is an art that is expressed together. On the other hand, “LIVE ART” is a live performance created from moment to moment by Takeshi Kobayashi, who has worked with bands such as Butterfly Studio, a new type of band that combines musical and non-musical talents, and Crookfields in Kisarazu. It is art that expresses itself.
We will take on the challenge of creating new expressions of art work exhibition and live performance that are created by merging and mixing these two arts.
Additional artists and exhibition areas for “LIFE ART” including Yasuaki Igarashi have been decided.
“LIFE ART” focuses on exhibiting artworks, inviting up-and-coming contemporary artists from Japan and overseas to exhibit their artworks at various locations in the five cities of Uchiboso. In Ichihara City, approximately 60 works will be displayed at locations around Kazusa-Ushiku Station, Ichihara Lakeside Art Museum, and the former Satomi Elementary School. In each of the new cities of Kisarazu, Kimitsu, Sodegaura, and Futtsu, works will be displayed in selected areas to make it easier for visitors to tour and appreciate the artworks. Exhibiting artists include Tetsuya Umeda, Motohiko Kotani, SIDE CORE, Hiraki Sawa, Michihiro Shimabukuro, Kohei Nawa, Rina Banerjee/Peggy E. Reynolds, Yoshio Yasu, and Ding Q. Le. Works expressed using various techniques such as paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations will be displayed in the five cities of Uchiboso.
Now, additional artists such as Yasuaki Igarashi and Bunpei Kado have been decided to participate, bringing the total number to
approximately 80. In addition, the exhibition area for each artist has been decided, so please refer to the attached document.
“LIVE ART” will feature a special live show produced by gorgeous artists and Takeshi Kobayashi!
The title of “LIVE ART” is “Tosoko Engeki/Tosoko Ongeki.” The word tsusoko was inspired by Andre Breton’s “Thong Soko,” and it symbolizes “things that shouldn’t be connected, but are connected.” The word “universality” refers to the reality that on the surface there seems to be constant division, such as wars caused by historical factors and physical divisions caused by natural disasters, but we are fundamentally connected at our core. Shouldn’t we be able to understand each other? It embodies our thoughts. Another geographical factor is that Tokyo and the Uchiboso area are connected by the Aqua Line at the bottom of the ocean.
As a form of expressing the “Tosoko connection drama/Tosoko ongeki” based on this Tosoko, we will hold different special live performances at four venues, each produced by Takeshi Kobayashi. Each concert title is given. On April 6th, there will be an art performance live “Mysterious Love Futtsu Misaki” featuring Aina The End at Futtsu Park Jumbo Pool, and on April 20th and 21st at Crook Fields (Kisarazu City). , “super folklore” featuring Kazutoshi Sakurai and Shikao Suga, and “dawn song” featuring Koji Miyamoto on May 4th and 5th at the Kimitsu Civic Cultural Hall, 5 On the 12th of the month, “Chama Universe” featuring Yoko Oginome and MOROHA will be held. Together with the main artists listed above, various artistic expressions on a different level from normal music live performances will be developed. In response to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture at the beginning of the year, we would like to convey our feelings through expressions from the Uchiboso area, with the help of AP Bank, and provide support. thinking about. Message from Takeshi Kobayashi
“When considering environmental issues, we cannot separate them from desire.” Sixteen years ago, in 2008, I spoke as follows at the Tokyo
Environmental Conference held as an AP Bank event. As someone who is involved in the expression of music, I felt that I could not continue to pursue my ideals while suppressing my desires.
“Desire,” or thinking about one’s own interests, and
“environment,” or thinking about the interests of others. (Although the opposite may be true for both) I believe that thinking about achieving both and creating resonance is what will create the future. Months and days pass. After creating Crooked Fields in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture in 2019, we decided to launch an art festival as a sustainable platform to create a new future.
It is also linked to the “Ichihara Art x Mix” project, which has been held in Ichihara City since 2014 and was directed by Fram Kitagawa (who taught me how to connect the importance of local activities and art to various consciousnesses). At the same time, you will be opening new doors.
The reason why we decided to name it “100 Years Later Art Festival” was to bring together “art,” something created from within ourselves, and the environment “100 years from now,” when we no longer exist. This is because I wanted the concept to be both of these and resonance.
And what is the meaning of holding this art festival in Chiba? Of course, this is because it is related to Chiba and Uchiboso, but the fact that it is an area that acts as a counter to Tokyo means that cities and nature, physicality and spirituality, art and business, selfishness and altruism, the present and the future, and the environment. This is because we thought it was appropriate for this art festival, which considers various counterpart issues such as desire.
Now that it has become clear that it is dangerous to entrust the future only to cities that are strongly influenced by economic rationality, we hope that the 100-year art festival can serve as an opportunity and play a role in the future. I hope.
About the Centennial Art Festival – Uchiboso Art Festival
-Concept of the Centennial Art Festival-
Thinking and expressing what will happen 100 years from now is all artistic activity. A place for co-creation to create the future 100 years from now
The 100 Years Later Art Festival is an art festival set in Chiba Prefecture that anyone can participate in who thinks about what will happen 100 years from now.
Thinking about what will happen 100 years from now is “altruistic” in itself. What kind of art do you want to leave behind 100 years from now? What kind of music do you want to leave behind 100 years from now? What kind of food do you want to preserve 100 years from now? What do you want to leave behind 100 years from now?
This art festival is a place for co-creation to create the future 100 years from now.
Thinking and expressing what will happen 100 years from now is all artistic activity.
Why not think about what will happen 100 years from now?
