◆Overview
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone who was affected by the earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, with its epicenter in the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture. Many people were affected by the disaster, and there are still many people waiting for rescue. In addition, relief efforts are pouring in not only from all over the country, but from all over the world. I hope that as many lives as possible will be saved, that the evacuation order will be lifted as soon as possible, and that we will be able to move on to recovery.

Representative Director: Masaru Hamano), a company, published a series called “Notes on Infection Control” in the monthly magazine “DHstyle” published for dental hygienists. This has been going on since January 2012.
In addition to oral microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites, etc.) related to dentistry, this series of “Infection Control Notes” covers various microorganisms that cause infectious diseases in humans, and aims to help medical professionals, especially dental hygienists. In easy-to-understand language for practitioners, we update our knowledge from a microbiological perspective and introduce points on infection control measures that are useful in dental care settings.
In connection with this Noto Peninsula earthquake, I wrote “Infection control during disasters” (DHstyle June 2016 issue), which I wrote during the “2016 Kumamoto earthquake” that occurred mainly in Kumamoto in 2016 (Heisei 28). was released to the public on February 11, 2024, courtesy of the editorial department of Dental Diamond Inc.
Although it was written in 2016, I think there are some points that are still useful today. While it can be difficult to maintain your mental and physical health while your evacuation life may be prolonged, we hope that this magazine will be of help to you. -About the published “DHstyle”-

The environment surrounding dental hygienists has seen major changes in recent years. In training institutions, the mission and role of dental hygienists has been greatly evaluated, with the beginning of three-year education and the establishment of four-year
universities.In 2006, the Japanese Society of Dental Hygiene was established, and its existence is being brought into closer focus. In January 2007, at a time like this, a new magazine “DHstyle” was launched by Dental Diamond. As the name suggests, this magazine is a specialized magazine that provides information while focusing on the various “styles” of dental hygienists, such as treatment styles and lifestyles. From 2024, the magazine will be published quarterly four times a year instead of monthly.
