UMI signs memorandum of understanding with Japan Corporation for Decarbonization (JICN) for quantitative evaluation of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction effects

Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “UMI”), a venture capital firm specializing in the materials and chemical industries, has partnered with Japan Decarbonization Support Corporation to quantitatively evaluate greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction effects. We signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan Green Investment Corp. for Carbon Neutrality (hereinafter referred to as “JICN”). Both companies will cooperate in quantitatively evaluating GHG reduction effects and contribution to reductions.
In addition, JICN has joined UMI No. 3 Decarbonization Investment Limited Partnership (hereinafter referred to as “UMI Decarbonization Fund”). Both companies will promote the activities of the UMI Decarbonization Fund and strive to quantitatively evaluate the GHG reduction effects of the UMI Decarbonization Fund’s investee businesses.
As a venture capital firm in the materials and chemical industries, UMI will contribute to GHG reductions by investing in technologies and businesses in the decarbonization field, where materials and chemical technologies are often the key solutions.
