A lecture and networking event to commemorate the publication of “Failing M&A” was held at the Roppongi Hills Club on Thursday, February 6th. Approximately 90 business executives gathered to learn about the essence of “successful M&A” based on real-life examples. After the lecture, a networking session was held, giving executives an opportunity to exchange opinions on the recent M&A market.

Our representative, Aoki, took the stage in the first part of the lecture. Since establishing Achievement Co., Ltd., Aoki has been involved in the human resource development of over 480,000 people and the education of over 7,000 small and medium-sized business owners.
In the lecture, he said, “The important thing in M&A is not to judge based on immediate profits and losses, but to think from three perspectives: “essential,” “long-term,” and “objective.” Also, it is important to clarify your life design as a manager. Please do so.”

The second part of the lecture was attended by Minoru Sengoku, CEO of Minami Aoyama Advisory Group. Mr. Sengoku not only provides accounting and tax support for numerous business partners, both listed and unlisted, but also has a track record of over 1,000 consulting services for IPOs, M&A, and business succession.
In the lecture, he shared the secret to M&A success, saying, “Recently, there is a new compensation system called engagement stock, which is effective as a measure to prevent employees from leaving and increase their motivation.”

For the third part of the panel discussion, K’s Group Co., Ltd. We welcomed Mr. Hirofumi Kobayashi, Representative Director, and held a discussion from the perspective of each specialist field, using real-life examples.
Mr. Kobayashi said, “What we do after acquiring a company is to hold study sessions almost every day and create a corporate culture,” and shared practical examples from his own experience for leading M&A to success. .
After the lecture, a networking session was held.
It became a place for managers to exchange opinions on M&A.
