Nagoya University of Commerce has been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Comprehensive Reform Support Project for Private Universities” Type 1 for the second consecutive year.
Nagoya University of Commerce has been selected for the second year in a row in Type 1 of the Comprehensive Support Project for Reforming Private Universities, etc., “Development of distinctive education aimed at realizing ‘Society 5.0.” For Type 1, for which our university was selected, applications were received from 496 universities, etc. (including junior colleges and technical colleges) across the country, and 102 schools were selected. Only three schools were selected from within Aichi Prefecture, and our university is the only one selected from universities with faculties in economics and management.
This project is a subsidy project jointly promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Private School Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation, and is a project to support proactive reform efforts and evaluate and select
universities that are producing results. In Type 1, for which our university was selected, recruitment was conducted to support universities and other institutions that are working on reforming the following educational content.

Promote the strengthening of educational functions to develop human resources who will support the future, such as implementing
cross-disciplinary educational programs that foster comprehensive knowledge and fostering the skills required in the “Society 5.0″ era, and promoting liberal arts education.
– Support efforts to reform high school and university connections, such as improving and strengthening the admission selection system and strengthening collaboration between high school education and university education.
Our university’s outstanding efforts include not only our efforts to reform the entrance examination system, which was highly praised for the second time last year, but also our strengthening of collaboration with high schools and academic support for a diverse range of students, including international students. We will continue to promote internal reforms and make further improvements in order to develop leaders who can respond to the demands of increasingly internationalized industry and local communities.
