In Iga City, we aim to show both inside and outside the city that Iga is a sacred place for ninjas, and to ensure that each citizen inherits the history, culture and spirit of ninjas, and that the public and private sector work together to create a tourism town that takes advantage of ninjas. In order to do so, we made the “Ninja City Declaration” on February 22, 2017 (Heisei 29). In accordance with this declaration, February of each year is designated as “Ninja City Month,” and this year marks the seventh year.
