ADRAS-J was launched by Rocket Lab’s rocket Electron from Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand at midnight on February 18th (Japan time), and after being safely inserted into the planned orbit, it communicated with the ground station. Communication was successful. I-NET will continue to work closely with Astroscale to complete the technology demonstration.

Astroscale was selected as a contract partner for the Commercial Debris Removal Demonstration CRD2 (Note) Phase I of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), which aims to demonstrate technology such as large debris removal, and developed ADRAS-J after receiving the contract. .
