“Accounting Bank”, which provides accounting apps for freelancers, and Sukima Byte “Timey” have started efforts to resolve concerns and problems such as tax returns faced by spot workers.
……
Accounting Bank Co., Ltd. (Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Hideki Sorimachi, hereinafter referred to as “Accounting Bank”) operates the smartphone apps “Smartphone Accounting FinFin” and “Smartphone Invoice FinFin” for freelancers and individual business owners. Timey Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Mine Ogawa, hereinafter referred to as “Timey”) and the two companies have begun discussions and efforts to resolve issues such as tax return filing for Timey workers.
The first step was to conduct a “questionnaire on final tax returns” for timely workers, and the second step was “Urgent event decided!” We jointly held a tax return seminar for timely workers (held online on February 20, 2024, free to attend).

■Background of joint efforts
In December of last year, Accounting Bank formed partnerships and business alliances with various companies and organizations across the country, and launched the “Freelance Support Project” to support diverse work styles from various angles, including accounting. We are developing various initiatives.
By matching the “times you want to work” and “the hours you want to work” with the free part-time job service “Timey,” Timey provides free ways of working that are not restricted by time or location. Some people who have a side job or part-time job through “Timey” are worried about the tax return that started on February 16th, such as not knowing how to file a tax return for their side job or whether they need to file a tax return in the first place. Since there are many people who have questions, we have asked them to support this accounting bank support project.

■About holding seminars
Due to the above-mentioned issues, we have decided to jointly hold an emergency collaboration seminar on tax returns. On the day of the seminar, the lecturer, Mr. Ryo Watanabe, a tax accountant (affiliated with Spotwork Research Institute Public Production Group, Timey Co., Ltd.), will teach beginners about tax returns, from the basics of tax returns, withholding tax, and year-end adjustments for Timey workers, to how to file tax returns. However, we have provided content that you can participate in with peace of mind, and at the same time we have introduced specific instructions for filing tax returns for timely workers using FinFin, a smartphone accounting service that can be completed on your smartphone.

More than 2,000 people applied for this seminar, proving the high level of interest in tax returns among timely workers. At the seminar, Mr. Watanabe, a tax accountant, answered questions and concerns from the participants as time permitted. It became a place for timey workers to resolve their questions and was very well received by the participants.
■Future outlook
In order to meet the needs of everyone, Accounting Bank and Timey will be holding a special campaign for the smartphone app “Smartphone Accounting FinFin” as a benefit for seminar participants. We hope you will make the most of this opportunity, both in preparing and practicing your tax return.
In the future, Accounting Bank and Timey will continue to discuss and work together to resolve issues related to spot workers’ tax returns, etc.
