In this project, we asked artists to create original works with the theme of “rebirth” and held a silent auction* for their works. We also held lottery sales of drawings, sales of related goods, and workshops, and at the end of last year, we donated all of the proceeds of 15,387,300 yen thanks to the generous support of many people. This time, for the first time, we attempted to use plastic recycled from cosmetic containers from the Pola Orbis Group as the material for an original work, and the artist and a research team from Pola Chemical Industries worked together to create the work. By combining recycled materials with art, added value can be added, and the creation of a cycle that can be made available to customers was a major achievement. We will utilize the knowledge we have gained through the process of giving form to ideas from artists to help realize resource recycling within our group.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the customers, artists, and everyone involved who supported and participated in this event.
The works exhibited in the “Plastic Revives” exhibition can be viewed in the online catalog until April 30, 2024.
