■What we can do to support the Noto area. Supporting crowdfunding and public relations for disaster recovery.
Approximately two months have passed since the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. Although earthquakes are still occurring, reconstruction efforts have begun in various places. ZESDA has been carrying out the “Shunran no Sato Project” for about seven years, supporting the “Shunran no Sato,” a group of farmhouse guesthouses in Oku-Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture, as well as blueberry products at “Hira Miyuki Farm,” which aims to improve the local brand power. Through development support, etc., we have interacted with the people and industries of the Noto region.
In order to help the people affected by this earthquake, ZESDA is leveraging the know-how and network it has cultivated through its past activities to provide full-scale remote support for recovery efforts. In addition to continuing to stay in contact with Shunran no Sato and finding ways to support them, we are also continuing to provide publicity support for Hiramiyuki Farm’s crowdfunding campaign. In addition, we have started crowdfunding support for the revival of the mushroom bed cultivation run by Mr. Ueno of Notokko, an agricultural cooperative corporation.

The “Noufuku Award 2023” was held on February 19, 2024, sponsored by the Agriculture, Welfare and Welfare Collaboration Support Consortium. In addition to awards recognizing initiatives that contribute to resolving issues in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries and welfare, a symposium was held to report on the activities of the Agriculture, Welfare and Welfare Collaboration Support Consortium. ■Amami Project (produced the Amami Oshima area in Kagoshima Prefecture) We held a social gathering with Nagatsuko Naruse and Marin, who are working on the revitalization of Amami Oshima. This is an opinion exchange meeting to create a movement to further revitalize Amami Oshima, such as connecting the activities of Mr. and Mrs. Hayashi and Ms. Marin, who are cultivating vanilla beans on Amami Oshima, which ZESDA supports.
In 2021, Marin launched the student organization Meet My Amami (Instagram: @meetmyamami) and is working to revitalize Amami with the power of young people.In addition, he also works as an individual singer of Amami Oshima Island Song in New York. “SAKURA COLLECTION 2024 in NY” held a celebrity reception at the five-star The Pierre Hotel on February 7th, following the exhibition and fashion show in New York. With many media, influencers, and fashion enthusiasts visiting, we worked to develop sales channels for traditional Japanese materials.
