Innovation challenged by AxelLiner
Through the development of the small satellite one-stop service “AxelLiner,” we developed PYXIS as a demonstration device with the aim of becoming the de facto standard for 100 kg class small satellites. The biggest feature is the adoption of a newly developed
general-purpose bus system.
Satellites produced in the past have required long development periods and large costs. Therefore, AxelLiner has now attempted to standardize the infrastructure of the satellite. In the future, we aim to shorten the period from order receipt to launch to approximately one year by building a mass production system with a view to simultaneous development of satellites, and also to provide products at lower prices.
This will greatly reduce the burden on users when utilizing
satellites, and will also be able to respond in a timely manner to the rapidly increasing need for small satellites.
In order to provide solutions that are easier to use and meet a variety of needs, we will further accelerate the technological development of AxelLiner and increase the number of constellations*2 using the small satellite GRUS operated by the earth observation platform “AxelGlobe”. We aim to realize our vision of “Space within Your Reach – making space a normal place”.
*2 Coordination of multiple satellites to operate as one system. *The development and demonstration of the general-purpose bus system and membrane-based deorbit mechanism was supported by the following grant project from the New Energy and Industrial Technology
Development Organization (NEDO).
“Space industry technology information infrastructure research and development project (development and demonstration support for general-purpose buses for microsatellites) / Microsatellite
demonstration project for realizing one-stop service for satellite constellations” (FY2023-2026) *2021-2022 The project was carried out in 2018 as a project directly executed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
“Space industry technology information infrastructure development research and development project (support for the development of space parts and components by venture companies, etc.) / Practical research and development of deorbit equipment for microsatellites”
(FY2020-2021)
