The Faculty of Business and Economics at Osaka International University conducts the Asia Study Tour, an overseas training program for students every February. This overseas training program involves visiting the overseas offices and factories of Japanese companies to experience international management and learn about management issues, as well as gaining exposure to diversity and the skills necessary for global business through interaction with Singaporean students. The aim is to broaden the experience and horizons of students. This year, 23 students (last year’s result: 12) participated.
Our company established its first overseas base in Singapore in July last year, and has been expanding overseas with a focus on Southeast Asia. I was asked by the university to speak on stage for students who are participating in this overseas training program to deepen their knowledge of the overall picture of corporate activities and international management, and I had the opportunity to tell them about our company’s overseas business.

Lectures at universities tend to explain corporate activities by breaking them down into areas such as sales, marketing, finance and fundraising, making it difficult for students to understand the unity and overall picture of corporate activities. I think this is becoming more and more common.
This time, the content of the lecture by CFO Araki, who is active at the forefront of the Southeast Asian market as a manager of a start-up company, clearly explains this point in an easy-to-understand manner, allowing students to greatly understand the real thrill of business. I am confident that we have achieved this. In addition, we believe that through talks about career design, students were able to understand the importance of continuing to learn independently even after entering the workforce.

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to speak at the overseas training program “Asia Study Tour (Malaysia and Singapore)” of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Osaka International University. In line with the purpose of this overseas training program, which is to visit Japanese companies that are expanding their business overseas and learn about management issues by experiencing the international management scene first-hand, the speaker will give a presentation on the theme of career design based on our company’s overseas business expansion and his own experience. Did.
For the students who participated, we conveyed the importance of valuing the valuable learning opportunities they have at university, and continuing to learn independently in hopes of becoming active in society as business people after graduating from university. Did. UPWARD has “Always Challenge, Always Day 1” as one of its Values (behavioral guidelines). Even when faced with a problem for which there is no answer, I believe that by always being a challenger and continuing to learn independently, I will be able to discover and solve problems. I am grateful for the opportunity to share with the students not only UPWARD’s overseas business expansion, but also my career and what I value as UPWARD’s corporate culture.
