■More than 1 in 3 lesbians encounter men on matching apps
Among women who are looking for a match with a person of the same sex, such as lesbians, there are stories of experiences such as “I received a message from a man on a matching app” and “I thought it was a woman, but when I called after repeated exchanges, it was a man.” was widely shared, but this survey revealed the actual situation.
A whopping 40% of women have said that they have met a man or received a message or other action from a man at a place where women meet, which is a more noticeable situation compared to places where men meet.
■Loneliness and anxiety of lesbians and heterosexual women
The study then investigated women’s feelings of loneliness and anxiety and found differences between lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual women and heterosexual women. Ta.
When asked, “Do you ever feel lonely?”, 14.3% of heterosexual women answered “often/always”, while lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual women answered “often/always”. increased by 1.8 times to 25.5%.
Furthermore, when asked the question, “Do you find it difficult to find a ‘method to meet people’ that suits you?”, the percentage of respondents who answered “very difficult” was 2.5 times higher. The rate for lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual women is 35.1%, compared to 14.3% for heterosexual women.
We also investigated financial anxiety, which is related to dating and partnerships, and found that when asked, “Do you sometimes feel worried about your future finances?”, a higher percentage of heterosexual women answered “often/always.” A high level of anxiety was observed at 25.7%, but the rate was even higher for lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual women, exceeding 40%.
■Women are highly motivated towards marriage and partnership! On the other hand, the desire for marriage and partnership was very similar. This result was based on the assumption that same-sex marriage and legal partnership for LGBTQ+ people were realized. Lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual women also desire stable partnerships that are publicly recognized in the same way as heterosexual women, and while we are waiting for legal reform, they are also facing the aforementioned “challenges when it comes to dating.” This shows the importance of resolving these issues.
