Nicobo, a weak robot jointly developed by Panasonic and Toyohashi University of Technology Professor Michio Okada (ICD-LAB), was born from a project proposed by Panasonic employees seeking to provide value in the form of “emotional enrichment.”
A robot that brings out the kindness and smiles of those around it, with the concept of being an “eternal 2-year-old”. When petted, they are happy and wag their tails, whisper in their sleep, and fart at their own pace. In addition to the Moko language, which expresses Nicobo’s unique feelings, he also occasionally learns words and speaks Japanese in katakko.
