-Background of the initiative-
– We want to change education and the future with everyone’s hands! What will education be like in the future?
We hypothesized that a “super playground” would be the future of education. There is no need to separate play, learning, or work; rather, it is a place where everyone from children to adults can unlearn (learn and loosen up) by encountering ways of seeing and thinking that are different from “common sense”; in this sense, it is a place that transcends learning, play, and work. I think the image of future education is a place of creativity where people can sharpen their skills.
No one knows the exact answer to what this will look like, but universities, schools, companies, and even countries are being unlearned, so much so that “common sense” and established “concepts” have been completely disrupted. We aim to knock on the door of the future by exploring new forms of education through repeated trial and error by all who have the will to do so.
Explayground’s aim is to become a platform = “sacred place” for such activities.
– Why we have to change
This is because there is a rift in education. Issues such as school refusal and bullying are often talked about, and the gap between the talent that industry is looking for and the talent that joins companies as new employees is often pointed out. There is a clear gap between the current educational system and the current educational system that is needed now and in the future. Also, the big thing is probably the change in times. The era of the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” is approaching, where technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are advancing, and many people have a feeling that society and the way humans behave will fundamentally change. Many people have this idea, and it is already clear that the educational world that supports the children who will live in society in the future must really change. At Expplayground, we value the learning that can be gained through being immersed in something – the learning that comes from play – and we hold a lab (LAB) where a diverse range of participants take the initiative to bring their own interests, things they find interesting, and challenges. ), as well as a variety of events, workshops, and projects.
The main labs are the “Physical Education ICT Research Group” where elementary, middle and high school teachers and university researchers from all over the country gather, the “Kuishinbou Lab” where people from Tsuji Culinary School and Gakugei University gather, and the children from affiliated schools. These include the central “GREEN TECH Engineer LAB,” and the “Mobius Open Library,” which considers the future of libraries and knowledge.
Furthermore, the sponsorship patterns of partner companies to date are wide-ranging.
Some companies have provided financial support, some have donated buildings, others have provided human support such as the
participation of human resources with know-how, and others have regularly donated materials necessary for our activities. There are various forms of sponsorship, including companies that can support us. Tokyo Gakugei University, which trains future teachers and education personnel, has a faculty of professors in all subjects, and also has connections with local boards of education and schools, and we are collaborating with them on this project. .

-Future activities. Crowdfunding is also being held until April 9th. Last fall, a unique building called “HIVE”, which symbolizes our activities, appeared in a corner of the campus. This building is a place where people from children to adults can unlearn (learn and unwind) by completely breaking down conventional concepts,
encountering perspectives and ways of thinking that are different from “common sense”, and where people can sharpen their skills beyond learning, playing, and working. It was built as a place of creativity. This time, with this egg of the future as an opportunity, we have started a crowdfunding campaign to help change “education” and “the future” with everyone’s hands.
