Verkada announces new cameras and enhancements across Command platform *Leading the industry in cloud-managed corporate building security and management* *Verkada*
has been updated with new navigation and a clean design. We now offer a more consistent experience between the web and mobile versions of Command, making it even easier to use Command on the go.
Additionally, switching between products and adding devices is now smoother, and key features such as people search and vehicle search on the mobile app are now easier to access.
* Fast login with Face ID and Touch ID *
Whether you’re on a mobile device or on the web, logging in to Command should be quick, easy, and secure. With this latest update, you can now authenticate when you log in to the web and mobile versions of Command using a passkey, such as a fingerprint, facial recognition, or security key. Passkeys provide high security and convenience, providing quick access to Command in an emergency.
*Device actions in conjunction with new alert configuration flow* Command provides sophisticated alerting capabilities that allow security teams to proactively take action against potential threats. With the latest update, admins and alert recipients can now create and manage all notifications in one place on the Alert Management page.
We’ve streamlined the process of setting up alerts, making it easier to set up alerts so you can respond faster before threats occur. Additionally, administrators can now connect other devices in the Verkada ecosystem to automatically act in response to alerts. The latest release introduces two new alert types and implements new features that utilize Person of Interest (POI) detection.
Additionally, the new “Shortcuts” feature allows you to follow multiple cameras to track your subject of interest in real time. *New alerts for line crossing and loitering*
“Line Crossing Warning” allows you to issue an alert when a person or vehicle crosses a line in a specific direction that is arbitrarily set within the viewing angle from the management console. This is useful for detecting intrusions such as crossing fences. Also new is a “loitering alert,” which is activated when a person or vehicle remains in a designated location for a specified amount of time.
* Real-time Person of Interest (POI) and License Plate of Interest (LPOI) detection*
Verkada offers sophisticated POI alerts that notify users via email or text message within seconds if a person of interest (POI) enters your premises. In response to many requests for POI notifications within live camera feeds, we have released the “Real-time POI Detection” feature. As a result, once a POI is captured by the camera, it can be detected and highlighted within just 0.5 seconds, allowing for faster response.
Additionally, we have added a new feature that links persons of interest (POI) and license plates of interest (LPOI). With this feature, when an LPOI alert is received, the related POI will be automatically displayed and you can easily view the footage of the person in question taken within the facility.
*Shortcut function that allows you to switch between multiple cameras and track the subject*
During real-time surveillance, tracking objects as they move through a property is often a challenge. If you don’t know exactly which camera to switch to next, you won’t be able to keep track of your subject in real time.
To solve this problem, we introduced “Shortcuts
” function has been developed. This allows you to quickly access adjacent cameras with a simple click of an icon overlaid on the camera feed, allowing you to seamlessly track people and vehicles on the move in real-time.

This release also includes access control policies, management and alerting capabilities for large and complex deployments. A new “Door Access Report” feature allows administrators to quickly determine which users have access to specific doors. We also released an “anti-passback” feature, which prevents users from accessing a set area twice in a row without badgering out at the exit door.
Lastly, we would like to introduce the “Double Badge” feature. This feature allows users to enable or disable door locks by double-tapping their credentials on a card reader.
