Shopify Japan Co., Ltd. Plus Shipping is the only delivery service in Japan that allows e-commerce businesses to complete online shipping operations from delivery orders to payment of shipping fees, and is a Shopify app developed and operated by Mitsui & Co. for Shopify businesses. . Utilizing the DX knowledge and years of experience in the logistics business that Mitsui & Co. has cultivated up to now, Japan Post Co., Ltd. (https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000096.000034630.html) will start operating in October 2022. Since July 2023, we have been providing services in collaboration with Sagawa Express Co., Ltd. (https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000113.000034630.html) with this app. By linking Yamato Transport’s services with this app, Shopify businesses can select the optimal delivery service from among the delivery services provided by Japan’s three major delivery companies, depending on the package to be delivered, and handle delivery tasks that tend to be complicated. This will improve efficiency and reduce costs.
With Plus Shipping, Shopify businesses can select the delivery service that is suitable for their packages without entering into individual contracts with delivery companies, and in conjunction with the Shopify management screen, they can manage everything from purchasing and printing shipping labels, to shipping orders, and delivery dates and times. We enable DX delivery operations (electronic
ordering/electronic payment), including specifying and tracking number linkage, sending shipping notification emails, and paying shipping fees by credit card. We also support electronic issuance of invoices eligible for the invoice system.
Now, with Yamato Transport supporting Plus Shipping, you will be able to choose the size of your package from letter size to large size, the temperature range of your package from room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen, and you will also be able to pick up your package face-to-face. You will be able to choose whether to pick it up or have it delivered.
According to a track record survey by Mitsui & Co., the introduction of this service has reduced the time and process required for in-house delivery operations by up to 93% (Note 1), making it easier and faster to deliver packages sold on e-commerce sites to buyers.
