The taiga drama “Seiten wo Kake” will be broadcast for the first time on CS from 24:00 on April 4th (Thursday)!
Channel Ginga will be broadcasting the taiga drama “Seiten wo Koke”, which depicts the life of Eiichi Shibusawa, who ran through the end of the Edo period and built the foundation of Japanese capitalism, from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. *First broadcast on CS from April 4th (Thursday)*

Ryo Yoshizawa passionately plays Eiichi Shibusawa, the face of the new 10,000 yen bill, from age 13 to age 91!
Tenpo 11 (1840), Musashi Province, Chiaraijima Village. Eiichi Shibusawa was born into a peasant family that produced indigo balls and cultivated sericulture. A talkative and timid naughty boy learns from his father, Ichiroemon, and discovers the joy of business. One day, Eiichi is unreasonably abused by the local magistrate who collects the government’s money, and he becomes angry at the social class system where the government and the common people are rampant. Along with his cousins Atsutada Odaka and Kisaku Shibusawa, he was devoted to sonno-joi, and although he planned a plan to expel the Joi, he was met with fierce opposition from Choshichiro Odaka and was forced to give up. Eiichi, on the other hand, is chased by the shogunate and flees to Kyoto with Kisaku.
It was Hitotsubashi Yoshinobu’s close aide, Enshiro Hiraoka, who sent out a rescue ship for them. Will he be captured by the shogunate and die, or will he become a vassal of Hitotsubashi? “If I survive, I will be able to fulfill my ambition someday.” This choice changes Eiichi’s destiny, and he eventually works towards the modernization of Japan.
