Design Award 2024”. *
The DAAX Design Award is sponsored by the Association for Augmented Experience Design (DAAX), which was established by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) together with private companies and universities.
2024″ encourages developers to conduct research and development of effective new experience designs for products, spaces, services, information, etc. using the Metaverse and XR, and widely promotes good experience designs whose experiences have been verified and their effects explained. This is an award system created for the purpose of introducing the company to society.

A new healthcare experience and demonstration experiment using 3D avatars will start in August 2023, with the aim of promoting behavioral changes in the health of consumers and promoting health management for companies. During regular health checkups at Hakuhodo DY Holdings, Hakuhodo, and Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, employees’ own 3D avatars are generated in a special cabinet installed at the health checkup venue, and on a dedicated website, the generated avatars become personal trainers. This is a program that supports the health of each employee by becoming a “personal trainer” and making use of the Proteus effect*1 of avatars, such as visualizing the desired body shape and teaching exercises for improvement (only available to those who wish).

Proteus Effect: Proteus is a shapeshifting god in Greek mythology. This effect has been named the Proteus effect, in which the image of oneself changes by changing one’s appearance, and one’s own abilities and behavior change as one is drawn to that image. Visual imagery has been shown to change a person’s ability, behavior, and consciousness, such as when a muscular avatar lifts a dumbbell, even though the weight is exactly the same, it feels lighter.
