TRE Holdings Co., Ltd.
River ELV Kawashima Office Announcement of introduction of “plastic crusher” ……
Our subsidiary River Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Naoto Matsuoka) ELV Kawashima Office (hereinafter referred to as this office) has introduced a new plastic crusher, as follows. I will do it.
1. Background of introduction
As one of the few facilities in Japan that also has an automobile dismantling and shredding machine, this facility plays the core function of automobile recycling for the TRE Holdings Group. The automobile industry is currently entering an era of once-in-a-century transformation, and efforts to recycle materials derived from end-of-life vehicles to create new vehicles are accelerating from the perspective of a carbon-neutral circular economy.
In the EU, in July 2023, the European Commission will require that 25% of the plastic used in new car manufacturing be made from recycled materials, and an additional 25% of that (approximately 6% of the total) will be made from end-of-life vehicles. It says it must be made from recycled materials. In Japan, the need for plastic recycling is expected to increase, with a resource recovery incentive system scheduled to begin in 2026 to promote the recycling of plastic and glass from end-of-life vehicles.
In promoting the recycling of plastics derived from end-of-life vehicles, issues include the removal of foreign substances other than plastics, such as metals, and the low transport efficiency due to their light specific gravity. Our office, which engages in the automobile dismantling business, has introduced a “dedicated plastic crusher” to solve these two problems.
2. About “plastic crusher”
The newly introduced “plastic crusher” has a processing capacity of less than 5 tons per day, and is capable of crushing bumpers and interior materials that come with metal parts such as screws and screws, and is equipped with a magnetic sorter. This is how we sort iron.
First, we will begin by crushing and sorting plastics such as bumpers and interior materials generated at our plant, which dismantles about 10,000 end-of-life vehicles each year.We will work with the River Nasu Plant, which has a resin sorting line, to crush and sort plastics such as bumpers and interior materials. We aim to recycle. In the future, we will purchase plastic parts and other items from other dismantling companies and work toward building a consortium for recycling materials derived from end-of-life vehicles.
